29 April Death anniversary film maker Kidar Sharma



Renowned film maker Kidar/Kedar Nath Sharma was born on 12th April, 1910 in a village called Narowal of Punjab region (Now Pakistan). He was writer, poet, lyricist, painter, still photographer, director and producer. In other words he was complete film maker because of his knowledge of each and every field of film making. He started in Hindi film industry as a still photographer and went on to become one of the legends. He got an oppourtunity in film Devdas, when Kidar was asked to write dialogue and lyrics for film Devdas. This film was superhit in all aspects across India. This film gave birth to three doynes in Hindi film industry – Bimal Roy, K.L.Saigal and Kidar Sharma. His directorial debut film was Tumhair Jeet. He got popularity as a director with film Chirtalekha. Great actor Raj Kapoor was fifth assistant director of Kidar Sharma. He became producer from the film Neelkamal. His memorable films are Neki Aur Badi, Humari Yaad Aayegi, Bawre Nain, Jogan, Sohag Raat, Fariyad, Kajal etc. This great legend died on 29th April, 1999.
