Eminent Urdu poet and lyricist Shakeel Badayuni was born on
3rd August 1916 in Badayun (UP, India) as Shakeel Qadiri. He got
first break from film Dard. The song of this film was very succesfull among the
listeners. Shakeel Badayuni is best known for his lyrics from film Baiju Bawra,
Mother India, Mughal-e-Aazam, Dulari, Ganga Jamuna, Mere Mehboob. Chaudhavin Ka
Chand, Do Badan. He has done 99% of his work with Musci director Naushad. Beside
of song writing, he wrote many Ghazals. He died on 20th April, 1970.
