Singer, Actor Kundan Lal Saigal was born on 11th April, 1904 at Jammu. He was the first superstar of the Hindi cinema. In his childhood he played role of Sita in the Ramlila. His memorable film was Devdas, Yehudi Ke Ladki. He acted and sang in a number of films scuch as Bhakt Surdas and Tansen and these films were successful at Box office. His memorable songs are Ek Bungla Bane Nyara……., Babul Mora Naihar Chhoto Jaye. He acted in Twenty-eight Hindi films, Seven Bengali films and one Tamil film. At the height of his career, his singing styles were copied by singers. He was addicted of alcohol (brand : KAALI PANCH). He died on 18th January, 1947.
