have some memorable music directors…..some of them are very popular in their
life time but Ghulam Mohammed was not one of them….his work was acknowledged
only after his death……when film PAKEEZAH released. He got National award for
film Mirza Ghalib. His composition in film Shama was notable.
Born
in Bikaner (Rajasthan) into a family of musicans,
his father Nabi Baksh was a Tabla maestro.
Ghulam Mohammad came to Bombay in
1934. After eight years of struggle 1932 he got a chance of playing table in
"Raja Bharthari". After that he stared work with eminent music directors Anil Biswas and Naushad. Matka was introduced by Ghulam Mohammed in Bollwood.
