Music Director Prem Dhawan was born on 13th June
1923 in Ambala. He was a lyricist, music director and choreographer in the
Bollywood. His masterpiece lyrics acknowledge in film Ziddi, choreograpy in
film Naya Daur and melodius music in film Shaheed. He started his career as an
assistant to music director Khurshid Anwar. As a lyricist his debut film was
Ziddi. He has worked as a lyricist in film Tarana, Tangawali, Jagte Raho,
Kabuliwala, Bada Aadmi, Rocket Girl and Ek Phool Do Mali. His debut film as
music director was Shaheed. He composed songs for film Pavitra Papi, Bharat Ke
Shaheed, Mera Desh Mera Dharam, Kisan Aur Bhagwan, Raat Ke Andhere Mein, Veer
Abhimanyu and Naxalites. His lyrics and music were full of patriotism. His
memorable songs are Mera Rang De Basanti Chola, Aye Mere Pyare Watan, Aye Watan
Aye Watan, Chhhodo Kal Ki Baatein and many more. He died on 7th May
2001.
