He started to receive proper training in music from Durgadas Bandopadhaya. He started his music career with the Indian Broadcasting Corporation in Calcutta along with legendary composer R.C.Boral. He made his debut as an independent music director from film Yahudi Ki Ladki. He made his debut as an actor from film Mukti. His memorable Hindi/Bengali films are Chasher Meye, Mukti, Yahudi Ki Ladki, Badi Didi, Badi Behan, Zalzala, Doctor, Rajkamal, Nartaki, Devdas, Didi, Maya, Gridah, Chitrangda and many more. His last film as music director was Janhabi Jamuna Bigolito Karuna. Pankaj Mullick wrote several book on India Classical Music. He died on 19^th February 1978. 

9May - Death anniversary playback singer Talat Mehmood.

Renowned playback singer Talat Mehmood was known as Kings of Ghazals. He was born on 24^th February, 1924 in Lucknow. He started his music career at the age of 16 from All India Radio Lucknow. Beside of singing he had appeared as actor in some Hindi movies such as Rajlaxmi, Tum Aur Main, Sampati, Aaram, Dil-e-Nadaan, Waris, Dak Babu, Raftar, Diwali Ki Raat, Ek Gaon Ki Kahani, Sone Ke Chidiyan, Malik and Lalarukh. He was known for his unique style of singing. He died on 9^th May, 1998 in Mumbai.

7 May - Birthday actress Ashwini Bhawe

Actress Ashwini Bhawe was born on 7^th May 1972 in Mumbai. She is well known for his debut Hindi movie Heena. She started his career from television science fiction serial Antariksh. She made her silver screen debut in Marathi film Shabas Sunbai. She later appeared in Marathi movies such as Dhadakebaaz, Ashi Hi Banwa-Banwi, Kalat-Nakalat. After successful career in Marati movies, she was cast in film Heena. She has appeared in Hindi movies such as Meera Ka Mohan, Honeymoon, Sainik, Parampra, Ekka Raja Rani and Bandhan. Music Director Prem Dhawan was born on 13^th June 1923 in Ambala. He was a lyricist, music director and choreographer in the Bollywood. His masterpiece lyrics acknowledge in film Ziddi, choreograpy in film Naya Daur and melodius music in film Shaheed. He started his career as an assistant to music director Khurshid Anwar. As a lyricist his debut film was Ziddi. He has worked as a lyricist in film Tarana, Tangawali, Jagte Raho, Kabuliwala, Bada Aadmi, Rocket Girl and Ek Phool Do Mali. His debut film as music director was Shaheed. He composed songs for film Pavitra Papi, Bharat Ke Shaheed, Mera Desh Mera Dharam, Kisan Aur Bhagwan, Raat Ke Andhere Mein, Veer Abhimanyu and Naxalites. His lyrics and music were full of patriotism. His memorable songs are Mera Rang De Basanti Chola, Aye Mere Pyare Watan, Aye Watan Aye Watan, Chhhodo Kal Ki Baatein and many more. He died on 7^th May 2001.

6th May - Death Anniversary actress Nigar Sultana

Actress Nigar Sultana was the wife of legendary film maker K.Asif and mother of the actress Heena Kausar. Nigar Sultana’s memorable role was in film Mughal-e-Azam as Bahar. Nausad got his break with the film Prem Nagar but got populariy, name and fame from film Ratan. His compositions were based upon Ragas. His musical melodies films are Baiju Bawra, Jadoo, Aan, Uran Khatola, Anmol Ghadi, Dard, Mere Mehboob, Mughal-e-Azam, Mother India, Kohinoor, Mela, Nai Duniya, Ram Aur Shyam Saathi, Pakeezah, Gunga Jamuna and many more. His last composition film was Taj Mahal : An Eternal Love Story. He died on 5^th May, 2006 in Mumbai.

Actor Ajinkya Deo was born on 3^rd May, 1963. He is best known for Marathi films and theatre. His debut film in Marathi was Ardhangi. He got State Award for the best actor for his performance in that film. Beside of Marathi films he has appeared in Hindi, Telugu and English movies. Tamanna was also debut film of Manna dey as a playback singer.  Nargis Dutt is well known for her role in film Mother India. Her memorable films are Barsaat, Andaz, Awaara, Deedar, Shree 420, Babul, Aadhi Raat, Aah, Jagte Raho, Deedar, Hulchul, Lajwanti, Chori Chori, Raat Aur Din and many mores.
